Natalie Mae Palms

is a folk-inspired multi instrumentalist singer-songwriter.  Raised in a strong small town community in the Michigan countryside, she was born the daughter of folk musicians and educators, who are also two thirds of the string band The Raisin Pickers, and her first point of influence.  Natalie Mae moved to New Orleans in 2005 to study piano and music business, and fell in love with the culture and soul of the South.  Since releasing her debut album “Waiting on You” in 2009 (Ind.), Natalie Mae has released two more full-length albums and an EP: “More Than You Know” (2012 Ind.), which was nominated for a New Orleans OffBeat Award for Best Country/Folk/Americana Album, and “Run to You” (2017 Fruge Records). She spent two years on the road, performing and recording with the folk pop rock group The Blue Party, and plays often with various projects, including the old-time group Hired By Dave and Get Up Rounder with Emolyn Liden. Today her sound is built on a combination of her folk upbringing and her beloved southern home.  It is pure of heart, and rooted in the traditions of American folk, old time and country music.  She blends intricate melodies with dynamic but relatable lyrics that evoke vivid memories and warm the heart. Natalie Mae performs regularly year-round in New Orleans and frequents the Midwest when the weather beckons her to cooler winds.
